Lovers of Las Vegas – locals and tourists alike – have a new place to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

It’s Oscar’s steakhouse at the Plaza Hotel and Casino, the home away from home of one of the city’s most beloved and colorful leaders, former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman.

Oscar’s Beef ? Booze ? Broads, which opened in December in the Plaza’s iconic dome overlooking Fremont Street, is celebrating its first Valentine’s Day by offering a special three-course menu for couples who dine there Feb. 14.

The meal starts with a flavorful mixed green salad with poached golden and red baby beets and Champagne vinaigrette. Diners then have the choice for their entrée from a traditional Chateaubriand for two with roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables or an herb crusted rack of lamb with mint Bordelaise sauce. Couples can end their evening on an indulgent note with a luscious chocolate lava cake or succulent chocolate-covered strawberries.

In addition, Simpatico, the adjacent Italian Speakeasy and Grill, will offer a cozy, Italian-inspired meal beginning with mussels marinara. Entrée selections include Lobster Fra Diablo or Braciole filled with pine nut, spinach and red peppers with a demi glaze. And like couples at Oscar’s, diners at Simpatico can select from either chocolate lava cake or chocolate-covered strawberries for dessert.

Couples can enjoy delicious, hand-crafted cocktails at Oscar’s and Simpatico, as well as a diverse wine list, including Champagne, to toast their special evening.

Public House Features Their Spicy Number, The Bitter Hottie, On Valentine’s Day

It won’t take much to spice things up this Valentine’s Day as Public House, a contemporary tavern located in The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian, highlights their beer-blended Bloody Mary, the ‘Bitter Hottie,’ on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Bitter Hottie, Cocktail, Public House, Las Vegas, Venetian

”Our extensive beer program is a huge part of the identity of Public House,” says owner Billy Richardson. ”With the ‘Bitter Hottie,’ we go a step further by merging our beer and cocktail programs for a delicious twist on the classic Bloody Mary.”

‘Bitter Hottie’ Recipe:
10oz of IPA
Dash of Sriracha
Celery bitters
Fresh lime squeeze

The drink is crafted in a salted tulip glass.  When beginning to pour the hand-crafted cocktail, start with the Sriracha and lime and then fill with the IPA. To complete the presentation, garnish the spicy beverage with a salted rim and lime wedge.

A model of a classic draft system offers an artistic component to Public House that pays homage to the traditional tavern. The ornate contraption, accented by gold leaf, frames one side of the bar. The design of Public House, on the whole, reveals different environments through various nooks in the dining room. The lounge, which accommodates up to 60 guests, offers a cool bar scene accentuated by a 40-foot-long bar anchored by a DJ booth.

Public House is located on Restaurant Row in The Venetian Grand Canal Shoppes. The laid-back restaurant and bar is open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. until midnight on Friday and Saturday. More information and reservations are available on the company’s website at www.PublicHouseLV.com or by calling 702.407.5310.

Customize meals and impress companions at L’Atelier by sharing multiple small plates of the city’s most refined food.

3. Top of the World:  The ultimate special occasion restaurant sits atop the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. The only thing as impressive as the panoramic views of the entire Las Vegas Valley is the surprisingly modern American menu.

With a celebratory atmosphere and classic French dishes prepared by Chef Gregory Pugin, Le Cirque is timeless. It is always the right choice.
